Qwizdom releases Q6 — most affordable, versatile SRS available for K12

Our newest hardware release, the Q6 student response system, is here!

The Qwizdom Q6 Student Response System is currently available for pre-order and will begin shipping April 30th. The new system is unique in that it offers more opportunity for collaboration than any previous system, with an easy-to-use keypad (similar to a cell phone), text input and a larger LCD screen to view full questions and enter responses.

The small, ergonomic radio frequency remotes allow each student to communicate with the teacher from up to 328 feet away and are durability-tested to withstand the rigors of the classroom.

“The ability to have students type in words for their answer has opened up so many more opportunities for me to use the Q6’s to provide additional practice, review, and assessment opportunities in a fun, engaging way,” said Lisa Horn, who tested the remotes in her Gildo Rey Elementary School classroom. “The kids noticed right away how similar it was to cell phone texting and it took almost no instruction for them to be able to use the Q6.”

As the teacher presents questions on a screen, verbally, or by using paper-based activities, pupils enter responses with their remotes. The teacher‘s computer instantly receives the responses and records the results, allowing the freedom to easily manage and control the format and speed of the lesson. The instant response also allows the educator to gauge students’ overall comprehension or to zero in on a struggling pupil. In turn, a student is notified when their response has been received and can silently signal the teacher for help, easing the fear of judgment by peers or falling behind in class.

The device’s 1.8 × 1.5” LCD screen allows for multiple mark, numeric, sequencing, rating scale, yes/no, fractional/decimal, multiple choice, true/false, and short answer question input. Additionally, the Q6 allows the student to enter scientific, mathematic, superscript and subscript expressions, along with general punctuation symbols found on a cell phone. A text edit option allows students to correct grammar and punctuation in a sentence or passage.

Qwizdom Connect software works with hundreds of thousands of pre-made curriculum resource slides. The software, used with Q6 remotes, is both PC and Mac-friendly, integrating easily with PowerPoint® and Keynote®.

  2. I am curious if they have the same rubber coating as my Q4′s. This has been a constant problem in my class, as my students love to pick at the coating. Otherwise, I love qwizdom.

  3. Does the Q6 require a new host or presenter controller?
What will be the cost of the software upgrade from a previous version?
