A history class at Raa Middle School is using innovative technology to teach students in a fun way.

Smart classroom technology helps one of Raa’s American history classes. The students have a wireless clicker to answer questions, and the students with the most correct answers race cars virtually at the end of the rounds keeping the students engaged and the classroom environment, high-energy.

Carlos Fernandez teaches the class he said, “They’re participating in it where they are answering questions, they are getting instant feedback whether it’s right or wrong, and it’s very, very competitive. ”

Fernandez says the students are trying to beat each other to get the highest score. The review session then turns into a game, and they don’t realize how much they are learning.

8th graders at RAA Middle School are using smart-boards and wireless devices to get a hands-on lesson in American history. Instructor Carlos Fernandez says the interactive smart classroom gives students a way to interact, compete and get instant feedback on what they know.

Fernandez said he’s seen students’ learning interest peak since they started using this new technology.
